Patience

Gary Becker, the Nobel Prize winner and father of modern economics of the family, argued that the possession of wealth encourages people to invest in becoming more patient. By implication, therefore, poverty makes people (permanently?) more impatient.

This probably explains the near impossibility of trying to convince people to be interested in composting here. It takes too long for limited rewards.
